How To Maximize Your Day And Have The Best Days EVER
Who doesn’t love the idea of having the best day ever, every single day? But when we think of making the most of each day, we often fall into the trap of continuous rigid schedules and monotonous routines. But what if I told you there's a more flexible, fluid way to achieve your "best day ever," every day? It involves four key elements – your Being, your Body, your Business, and your Balance.
Today, we'll explore how to integrate these aspects into your daily life without resorting to strict routines.
The secret to having the best day ever lies in the 4B framework. It's a concept I learned from Garrett J. White and have been applying to my days ever since. If I can look back over the day and see that I hit all 4 B's its a damn good day.
This is about nourishing your Being, caring for your Body, enhancing your Business, and maintaining your Balance. Instead of focusing on a rigid schedule, or working on one of the Bs and neglecting the rest, let's concentrate on incorporating these four elements into your day. The key is to have them scheduled out and know your priorities and values.
To give you an idea: Here is what my weekdays usually look like with 4Bs - I've tested lots of different schedules but this one seems to work for me the best for where I am at in my life right now. In a Quarter where the theme is Business/Body, I am flexibly strict on this schedule. In Quarters where the theme is Being/Balance I am more flexible and laid back. Yes, I eat around 4-5 times a day to stay on my training protocol.

Your Being signifies the core of who you are, acting as the foundation for your personal expansion and self-development. In order to nurture this aspect of your life, it's important to set aside a segment of your day for engaging in activities that cultivate self-growth and advancement.
Maybe your journey involves immersing yourself in the peaceful realm of meditation, a practice proven to enhance mental clarity and emotional stability. Or perhaps you find direction in the pages of a self-help book, discovering wisdom, insights, and motivation that helps you navigate life's complex pathways.
You could also explore mindset shift techniques specifically aimed at your success. This could involve replacing negative thoughts with positive ones, visualizations, or simply challenging and reorienting any limiting beliefs that could be holding you back. Whatever activity you decide to engage in, the key is to select something that feeds your soul, sparks your passion, and supports your overall journey towards self-enhancement and growth.
Our bodies are our temples, and their wellness plays a crucial role in determining our overall sense of happiness and positivity. It's therefore essential to prioritize practices like regular exercise, balanced nutrition, and sufficient rest.
When it comes to physical activity, choose exercises that invigorate you and make your heart sing. This might be a revitalizing stroll through the park, a restorative session of yoga, or an adrenaline-fueled weights workout. The key is to find joy in movement, connect with your body, and appreciate how it serves your physical well-being.
Fostering self-improvement habits for your body isn't about rigid gym schedules or extreme dietary limitations - unless your competing or challenging yourself. Rather, fostering a healthy body is about cultivating a deep sense of love, respect, and nourishment for your body. It's about recognizing your body's needs and answering them with care and understanding.
The Business facet refers to your professional pursuits, employment, or any endeavor that fosters your financial security. Often, this component can consume a substantial part of our daily lives, but it shouldn't feel like a strenuous chore. Instead, if we can unearth purpose and passion in what we do, it transforms the idea of 'work.' We begin to resonate with our tasks, ceasing to count it as labor. Instead, it becomes a stimulating and fulfilling aspect of our existence, allowing us to offer significant contributions to our communities and the world at large.
Seek to make each day productive but remember that being productive isn't equivalent to overworking yourself. It's about smartly and efficiently managing your time, energy, and resources. It's also about knowing when to hit pause and recharge. Adopt a work approach that's both flexible and purposeful.
Importantly, let's debunk the "hustle and grind" mentality that the world often glorifies. As creative beings, we're all artists, able to mold a life we love through our profession, fueled by highly focused, deep work. It's not about wearing the badge of honor for working 14-hour days, but about celebrating the art of working smart. The true flex lies not in working harder but in working with intelligence, precision, and telling no one about it.
Balance is a crucial aspect often overlooked in our busy schedules. Balance is about being 100% present with your family, your significant other, or your community. It's about doing something that may seem completely detached from your business, your personal development, and your physical wellness, but ultimately enhances all three aspects even more.
Balance is about nurturing joy through small, everyday activities. This could involve pursuing a hobby, spending quality time with loved ones, or dedicating some 'me-time' to recharge and refocus. It's about being entirely present in the moment, soaking up the experiences that make you feel alive, content, and at peace. After all, cultivating happiness and well-being is the ultimate aim of our journey. Don't forget to allocate time each day for activities that ground you and amplify your joy. Because, in the end, that's what leads to the best day ever, each and every day.
Flexibility is the secret sauce of the 4B framework. While it's essential to incorporate Being, Body, Business, and Balance into your day, the exact manner in which you do so can vary. The key lies in adapting to the day's demands and not beating yourself up if things don’t go according to plan. Because beating yourself up will cause harm in all 4B of your life mentally and physically - trust me I know.
If an important business meeting takes longer than expected, maybe your exercise routine gets shortened that day. Or perhaps you invest more time in personal growth activities one day, and less the next. It's about embracing ebb and flow, while ensuring each aspect of your life gets the attention it deserves.
The path to personal growth and development isn't a rigid routine, but a flexible, compassionate approach to nourishing your Being, Body, Business, and Balance - the four Bs. As we walk through life's beautiful journey, let's keep in mind that your success, happiness, and positivity are not solely tied to any one aspect of our lives, but rather an integrated, harmonious blend of these four components.
Take a moment now, sit in quiet reflection, and evaluate your typical day. Are you attending to all the four Bs? Are you nurturing your inner self, taking care of your physical body, finding purpose in your work, and creating balance through activities that bring joy?
If not, it's time for a mindset shift. You have the power to reshape your days and, consequently, your life. As you plan for tomorrow, next week, or even the next month, remember to carve out time for each of the four Bs. Each component becomes real when it is scheduled into our days. Ensure each day includes activities that promote personal growth, physical well-being, professional success, and genuine happiness.
Every day is a new canvas, and you're the artist - so create a masterpiece! The only thing you get to control in your life is YOU. Take control of YOURSELF and create a life you love.
