Ever look back to what you learned is school and realized that 90% of it never set you up for a beautiful experience in the “real world?”
I mean I’m glad I learned how to read, write, and do math but other then that we are rarely taught about ourselves and this meat suit we have been given - we can learn all about the meat suit itself but not how trauma is stored in the body or how how mind and diet are the number 1 & 2 influences in how disease comes about. (Very rare that is it genetics)
I remember my Psychology 101 class and I loved it. But we never dove deep into the mind, emotions, feelings, thoughts on a level to which allowed us an opportunity to get a better understanding of ourself.
Maybe because it had the 101 in it but sh*t - learning about yourself first so you can help others is a must. - The airlines even teach us this.
There are a lot of times in my life that I can look back and pinpoint what I experienced from an output stand point and tie it to an input I was doing at the time.
I know it was things like periods of deep meditation, deep reflection, and asking a lot of myself a ton questions that has helped me take massive strides to experiencing a completely new a beautiful world.
Sure life has brought me to these periods through life experience like death, sickness, heart breaks and failures. But in those dark and difficult times, God also reminded me to look inward first.
All great spiritual masters and teachers point us inward first. Because if I can change the inner world first, the outer world would get better.
This is how I began to understand my emotions and feelings inside and how I was able to (and continually do) develop a practice of looking inward.
Which continually transforms my psychological state and I have a different, more beautiful life experience.
Life is still not all palm trees and sunshine - of course life has its challenges as I am moving through a big transition in my life right so this is what I am exactly doing right now.
I am just more aware to slow down in these challenging times and look inward. I hope you can walk away from this post with a shifted perspective to eventually reach a new height.
Let’s looks at ourselves and emotions.
Through our life we develop this ideology that we are the body and that our experience “dies” if we no longer have our body. There is a constant state of fear to which we subconsciously are moving throughout life in ways that guarantee our survival.
Our minds are programed to survive. And we live by different states of emotion in order to do this.
SCALE OF EMOTIONS
Peace
Joy
Love
Reason
Acceptance
Willingness
Neutrality
Courage
Pride
Anger
Desire
Fear
Grief
Apathy
Guilt
Shame
Consider each new emotion a new height in your life.
The fastest way to move up this scale is to continually tell the truth to ourselves and others.
You can increase your self awareness rapidly by observing your feelings, rather than your thoughts. A practice I do to observe my feelings is I ask myself a lot of questions out loud. A simple question I begin with when looking inward at a feeling and emotion is “What for?”
By asking this you’ll notice you begin to journey down a path that eventually leads to the root cause of a why you are feeling a certain way. Ask “What for?” On and on until you reach the root cause. It’s kinda like digging deep into your subconscious and eventually the answer (root problem) presents its self.
It can happen the first time or one day you'll be going through out your day and it as if the subconscious just releases it and pop right up into your awareness.
From this moment, you now have an opportunity accept it as it is with out resisting or condemning. (What you resists, persists - remember?)
Then you can begin a process of letting it go, which starts to drains the energy carried behind this emotional state cause from an experience. Then you begin to transcend to a new emotional state. (That is a freaking beautiful experience)!
Maybe you know the deep emotional root cause, yet you continually suppress, repress, express or try to escape from it. - All which are negatively impacting you and other around you.
It does no good to hold on to these experiences, feelings, events. So many do because these emotions and states are a part of “who they are.” They refuse to let go because there is so much more comfort and knowing in the suffering they are experiencing rather than moving forward into the unknown of who they can become.
We know that the dis-ease is your body and mind eventually expresses itself through suffering, sicknesses and disease over time, unless it is worked through. (I know so much easier said than done - but it is worth it. You’ll love yourself more and more the moment you begin to work internally to heal because you deserve it. You deserve it. Don’t let anyone else tell you different).
The more we live at these lower emotional states, the more we experience negativity in our life and the more we negatively impact those around us. The more we move up in emotional states, the more we experience beauty and positively impact those around us.
From people to events, like attracts like. As above so below. What are you bringing into your life? It is just a reflection of your internal world.
So ask yourself, how long do you want to go on with this suffering? When is enough, enough? When are you willing to let it go and continually rise up?
The world sees you as you see yourself. - Ponder on that for a minute or 3,000.
You have the power to dive deep into your emotions and not run from them. And let them go day by day until they no longer have any meaning and power over you. It's a never ending process but the experience of life will continually get better and better.
Eventually you can rise up to experience Love, Joy and a Peace that surpasses all understanding. Im striving to get there too.
You got this. We got this.
KEEP GOING.
