If you're anything like me, then you have goals for EVERYTHING.
Business. Professional. Personal. Relationships. Material things.
There came a point though where I started asking myself WHY. Not a surface-level why, but a deep understanding to which WHY am I striving for the goals I have set for myself.
Don't get me wrong, I believe goals are a must and there must be a compelling reason behind each of them to continually pull you forward to them.
I also believe in measuring the progress along in your journey and I believe progress is one of the great factors in personal happiness and fulfillment.
But I came to a point where I ripped up my entire list of GOALS.
That's right. I even threw the list in the garbage.
And the reason being is this...
Even what I think is my best is not even close to the greatness God actually has for me.
Yea, that could be the business, the life, the material things, the relationships, the marriage...you get the idea.
My goals were my desires.
Yet I want what God has for me. What God has for me leads me into my destiny.
I am a very motivated individual and have my whole life planned out for about the next 30 years 😂
But the ripping up of the list of goals was an act of surrender. This has been a reoccurring process that God continually moves my heart through these past few years.
The more I surrender to God's plan and what he has for me, the more I feel like I am progressing towards my destiny and living out my purpose here on Earth.
Was it difficult ripping up that list? Yes. Very.
I don't want there to be a time when I stand before God and he shows me the life HE had for me yet I didn't get to experience it because I was so self-absorbed with MY own goals and my own plans.
So I have changed my goals, ALL OF THEM.
And that's what we cover in today's episode of The NewHeidts Journey.
Enjoy 💪
